Kate & Gareth - February 14th 2009

A week after bushfires devastated much of country Victoria, Kate and Gareth had their wedding in the picturesque spa town of Daylesford, (thankfully spared from the fires) in the beautiful Convent Gallery. With guests flying in from around Australia, the setting was just stunning, as were (of course) the bride and groom! The gallery is the perfect backdrop for a wedding, with great light and spaces, and quirky, eclectic pieces of art and sculpture, and that makes my job nice and easy!

Cool details: I'm a sucker for flowergirls, and this wedding had three of the most gorgeous little Angels... (One of whom reminded me so much of my own little Angel, it was like looking two years into the future.)
Kate, an event coordinator planned the perfect occasion (I'm tipping excell spreadsheets were involved!), and Gareth, an architect, designed the wedding cake, with a precariously balanced heart that was definitely a feat of engineering.

Alice & Ryan - 25th January 2009

As the sister of one of my favourite 'past brides', the lovely Rosie, Alice had big shoes to fill. And fill them she did... Alice and Ryan were blessed with a beautiful Melbourne summer day for their ceremony at Birrung Mar on the banks of the Yarra. With the Australian Open tennis finals only meters away, the whole area was buzzing with such a great vibe.

Cool Details: The whole bridal party were great value, keeping the day fun and relaxed, and the girls carried fantastic colour co-ordinated parasols to keep the harsh sunlight at bay.

Sarah & Anthony - 10th January 2009

This wedding took place in my favourite part of the world, Red Hill on the Mornington Peninsula. Sarah and Anthony were a great, relaxed, fun couple, and of course the stunning backdrop of the vines of Tuck's Ridge winery. And talk about 'something in the water'... approximately 8 heavily pregnant guests (including two bridesmaids), and several newborns in attendance too! (I guess they didn't have to worry about a blowout on the alcohol bill...)

Cool details: Sarah wanted a photograph of herself and her father preparing to walk down the 'aisle' in the same pose as that of her own mother and with her father (Sarah's Grandfather) on her wedding day all those years ago. See comparisons above!

Blake & Amelia - 31st December 2008

A New Years Eve wedding... I nearly had one myself, but it got too logistically difficult. And what better place to have a new years wedding than at 'fireworks central', Melbourne's Docklands. A 'Hollywood Glamour' theme, with a couple so in love (even I got teary in the speeches!), and even better for me, a mini school reunion! (I went to school with the groom's sister, he was a couple of years older than me, and a few of the bridal party and their partners all went there as well, so I had a little social catch-up on the job!)

Cool details: Blake did a fantastic job of serenading Amelia with a great version of "The Way You Look Tonight", and then they 'boogied on down' with New Years fireworks going off in the background.

Richard & Meredith - 7th December 2008

I just love a wedding couple with a sense of adventure and a little quirky edge, and these guys had it in spades! How many brides do you know that would be willing to climb up a tree to get the right shot? Such fun, and after a few little rain showers, a great day!

Cool details: The guys wore hats, the bride wore a Collette Dinnigan cocktail dress, and the "wedding car" was a teal and white Kombi van. Too cool.

Michelle & Ben - 29th November 2008

My first post-baby wedding! As much as I love my little girl, it's great to get out and do what I do well, which is helping a couple capture their big day. Michelle and Ben were great fun, and their wedding, at beautiful Gardens House in the Royal Botanic Gardens, was a fantastic celebration of friends and family.

Cool details: A digital photobooth courtesy of www.peekabooth.com.au kept guests lined up throughout the night, and fantasic little baby cupcakes satisfied everyone's sweet tooth!

Finlay Charlotte Atkinson

My new muse - my gorgeous little daughter, Fin, born 29th September 2008. You'll be seeing a lot of her! I saw a baby t-shirt the other day that said "My parents are the Paparazzi" which I thought was scarily appropriate.
